DR DOUGLAS BOATENG TO DELIVER CIPS AFRICA 2012 DISTINGUISHED SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGEMENT PUBLIC LECTURES IN WESTERN, EASTERN AND SOUTHERN AFRICA

Following the highly successful 2011 lecture series, the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS) is pleased to announce that the 2012 Pan African Distinguished Supply Chain Management Public Lectures shall be taking place in the following sub regions.

SADC – Southern African Development Community

ECOWAS -Economic Community of West African States

EAC -East Africa Community

The first lecture shall be kicking off in the ECOWAS sub region in Ghana during September 2012, in partnership with CIPS Africa.

 “This is the second supply chain management
lecture series on the continent. Dr. Douglas
Boateng, who delivered the successful 2011 lecture series, will deliver lectures to various academics, students, practitioners and professionals in Western, Eastern and Southern Africa,” says Mr. Andre Coetzee, Managing Director for the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS) Africa.

Delivered in partnership with CIPS Africa, the 2012 Pan African Distinguished Supply Chain Management Public Lectures theme for 2012 is: “Accelerating Economic Development and Job Creation through Strategic Sourcing.”

Dr. Boateng, who amongst his numerous  titles counts CEO of PanAvest International, President of the Institute of Operations Management Africa, and Founder & Non-executive Chairman of the West African Institute for Supply Chain leadership (Ghana), has been publicly acknowledged for sector specific contributions to industry since 2000. He was inducted into the Institute of Directors Southern Africa Hall of Fame in 2008, for his on-going contribution to the development of the supply chain management profession in Africa.

He is a fellow of the following international Institutes:

(2) Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport, Chartered Fellow, United Kingdom
(3) Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply, Chartered Fellow, United Kingdom

(6) Institute of Business Consulting, Fellow, United Kingdom
(7) Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport, Chartered Fellow, Southern Africa
(8) Institute of Directors, Fellow, Southern Africa

CIPS shall be further announcing the actual dates and venues in each sub region.
